The National Forum “Proposal to Launch a National Label Pilot and Climate Financing in the Chatkal District” (CSF-2025) was held in Bishkek. The forum presented a concept for establishing a pilot green economy zone in Chatkal and mechanisms for attracting international climate financing. The event brought together representatives of the government, профильных ministries, international organizations, and the expert community. The Hungarian–Kyrgyz Development Fund was represented by Urmat Kydyrganov, Manager of the Finance and Analytics Service.

During the forum, scientific and analytical materials on the natural potential of Chatkal were presented, and the institutional model of the future label pilot as well as key development areas—energy, agriculture, SMEs, tourism, and creative industries—were discussed. Experts highlighted opportunities for developing small hydropower plants, modernizing the agricultural sector, supporting local producers, and creating a year-round tourism cluster. At the closed session of the forum, international partners agreed on further steps, including the establishment of an interagency working group, preparation of a draft regulatory act to launch the pilot, and the formation of a preliminary request for international climate financing.

In the closing remarks, the government announced the start of preparations for a decision to establish a pilot zone of green economy and climate resilience in the Chatkal District, marking a new stage in the region’s development. The forum concluded with a press briefing, networking session, and closing ceremony, confirming the strong interest of government bodies and partners in supporting initiatives aimed at the sustainable development of the Chatkal District.
