HKDF discussed cooperation with FAO in the field of organic agriculture

On March 5, 2026, a working meeting was held at the office of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund with a representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

During the meeting, the parties discussed FAO’s areas of activity in Kyrgyzstan, including the development of sustainable organic agriculture, support for farmers, the introduction of innovative technologies, and the strengthening of food security. The FAO representative also presented ongoing programs supporting the agricultural sector, including RuralInvest, aimed at developing business plans, as well as a program for financing associations of producers.

The Chairman of the Management Board of the Fund, Ulan Sarbanov, provided detailed information on the Fund’s project financing mechanisms and investment requirements.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed interest in further cooperation and agreed to continue working consultations on possible areas of collaboration in the development of the agricultural sector.
